When and how did you get into derby?

Feb. of 2015, my roommate (#500 Indy Go Montoya) got a flyer for roller derby as a joke and I said "Yaaassssss!"

How much of your time would you say you dedicate to roller derby (or roller derby related activities) in an average week?

I wish I could say all of it, but 3-4 days

What kind of athletic experience did you have before getting involved with roller derby?

I played softball and bowled from age 4 until I aged out of the youth programs available. Team sports were always my fave.

What's the most meaningful lesson you've learned from roller derby?

If you're not falling, you're not learning. Comfort is not a necessity.

What advice would you give to a new skater?

As my hero, Ms. Frizzle, would say, "Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!"

Why is being a Middle Georgia Derby Demon important to you?

I love being part of a team. I love feeling like I belong.

What's one thing you wish everyone understood about this sport?

Your body type (whatever it may be) is an assets to the team. Also, no, we aren't trying to hurt ourselves or each other.

What's on your bout day/practice playlist?

See Indy Go's playlist, she's always got tunes ready for me!

Who's your derby idol and why?

I've never really been one for watching sports on TV and derby is no different. My derby idols are my teammates.

Favorite post-bout/practice meal?

N/A, Striving and surviving while I pass my assessments and get rostered. Or pizza, pizza is always good.

Hobbies outside of roller derby?

Other than derby, I'm a board game enthusiast. Not Monopoly or D&D but "strategy" games.
