What's your day job?
I'm a student at Mercer University
When and how did you get into derby?
January 2015, and I kind of decided I wanted a sport and this was the one I found!
How much of your time would you say you dedicate to roller derby (or roller derby related activities) in an average week?
14 hours about? Practice and the gym.
What kind of athletic experience did you have before getting involved with roller derby?
I was an ice skater but I wasn't very serious about it... but since derby I have really grown to love athletics.
What's the most meaningful lesson you've learned from roller derby?
That becoming an adult doesn't mean your life is over! I have met so many wonderful women who make growing older not seem so scary.
What advice would you give to a new skater?
Make a victory journal! Write down every new skill you learn so that when you have bad days you can remember the great ones.
Why is being a Middle Georgia Derby Demon important to you?
There is nothing in this world better than this team. The fact we can all grow and learn with each other is something I will always be grateful for.
What's one thing you wish everyone understood about this sport?
Being short is a good thing in derby! Well, every kind of body has strengths in the sport. There's no right way to be.
What's on your bout day/practice playlist?
Get Better by Frank Turner is always a hit with me.
Who's your derby idol and why?
Hmm.. I have lots of them! One of them is Kim Kapow from the Brighton Rockers. She looks so small but packs a powerful punch. She's also great at being exactly where her team needs her.
Favorite post-bout/practice meal?
MAC N CHEESE though I don't have it very often.
Hobbies outside of roller derby?
I played rugby last year, and it was SUPER FUN.
