What's your day job?

Computer Operator

When and how did you get into derby?

St. Patrick's Day 2013. Derby girls looked tough as hell and I wanted to give it a try.

What kind of athletic experience did you have before getting involved with roller derby?

NONE. I played soccer when I was a kid and was AWFUL at it.

What's the most meaningful lesson you've learned from roller derby?

Teamwork. You canNOT take on a whole team by yourself. Even if you have the jammer all by yourself, you WILL need your whole team to help you. "A single arrow can be broken, but a bundle is strong."

What advice would you give to a new skater?

You're supposed to fall! When I first started I was told "If you're not falling, then you're not trying hard enough." I still think back to this when learning new skills.

Why is being a Middle Georgia Derby Demon important to you?

The Demons are my family. We help out the community as much as we can and it's an amazing feeling. They make me a better person.

What's one thing you wish everyone understood about this sport?

It's not just about hard hits. Those are still fun to watch, but this is a sisterhood. So when we take that big hit, a lot of times you'll see us laugh it off and or go give the other team a high five for that awesome hit. We never tear each other down.

What's on your bout day/practice playlist?

Something with a good beat, rap or trap. (Missy Elliot, Todrick Hall, Dillon Francis)

Who's your derby idol and why?

V-Diva because she's the best of both worlds. She's relentless when blocking, she will go all the way to the end of the engagement zone to get that jammer.

Favorite post-bout/practice meal?

A burger and/or milkshake from The Rookery.

Hobbies outside of roller derby?

Photography
